I2 Projects and Applications @ MTU

Electrical Engineering: Solving the atomic many-body problem with an integrated symbolic/numeric approach: Application to quantum computing.
The application calculates atomic energy levels and transition states for the elements, and is used to solve
Many Body Perturbation Problems with applications ranging from developing quantum gates (nano-technology) to generating an accurate spectrum analysis of stellar matter. The software is a Mathematica front-end, which farms out specific calculations to other computation sites. The Ohio SuperComputer Center will test the backend and will include other sites in the future.
