| *For
the 2003 annual year, Michigan Tech Internet2
traffic averaged 35-40 percent of the 90MB of
capacity available for Internet access. This number
has held constant for the last two years. |
During the Fall Semester of
2003, Michigan Tech along with all other public universities
in Michigan, were asked by Merit, Inc.to compile a
list of FY03 grant-funded projects that required intensive
use of high-speed Internet. The research did not have
to be projects that were studying the Internet, but
any grant-funded project dependent upon high-speed
Interent access being available.
The following electronic survey was sent to 275 faculty,
staff, and graduate students who were somehow involved
in sponsored programs funding in FY03, either expensed
or awarded.
Fellow Project Directors and Investigators,
Please email reply to the one question survey
below and return to me. If you currently have more
than one grant funded project, please send a separate
reply for each.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Question:
To what extent is high-speed Internet access
required to support your current grant funded project?
