The absence of common middleware solutions is a big
problem for today's research and education networks.
Applications either make do without middleware functions,
in which case usability and efficiency suffer, or
applications perform middleware functions themselves,
which leads to competing and incompatible standards.
NMI-EDIT is addressing these problems by working toward
the deployment of interoperable core middleware services.

Enterprise
Directory Implementation Roadmap
The Enterprise Directory Implementation Roadmap is
an iterative process that campuses can use to assist
them in building enterprise directory services. We
provide deployment contexts and describe strategies
for work being done by the MACE-Dir, Internet2 and
EDUCAUSE stakeholders and working groups.

LDAP
Analyzer
As the work associated with the Internet2 and NSF
Middleware Initiatives has progressed over the last
few years, in particular in the directory services
arena, we have learned that there are many people
who wish to deploy enterprise class directory services
who seek assistance and validation to answer the general
question "Have I done this correctly?".
